An Indian cast bronze foot scraper formed with a circular grated base designed for cleaning the soles of footwear. The cylindrical base is pierced with evenly spaced vertical openings around the sides, while the top surface features a grid of raised ridges intended to remove dirt and mud from the bottom of shoes.
Rising above the base are two stylised animal figures facing each other, their arched bodies forming a decorative handle. The animals are depicted with elongated legs, pointed ears, and rounded eyes, their forms joined by a curved element above. The sculptural group creates a functional grip while also serving as an ornamental feature.
H: Approximately 7cm

Condition report:

The sculpture exhibits a deep, aged patina with significant use-wear consistent with its historical function. There is visible surface pitting and localised areas of oxidation and green verdigris. Earthen encrustation is present within the recessed areas of the open-work base and the figures. The casting remains structurally sound with no apparent repairs or major losses.
