A Chinese Celadon-Glazed Covered Box, Qianlong Mark –
A Chinese celadon-glazed covered box of circular form. The ceramic body is distinguished by a pale celadon-green glaze, with unglazed biscuit-colored rims where the lid meets the base. The exterior is adorned with intricate raised relief decoration, featuring a central floral or geometric medallion on the lid, encircled by scrolling foliate motifs. Continuous bands of key-fret pattern encircle the body. The underside of the base features a glazed-over, four-character seal mark which reads "大清乾隆年製" (Dà Qīng Qiánlóng Nián Zhì), translating to "Made in the Qianlong Reign of the Great Qing Dynasty."
