An Indian Miniature Portrait of Zu’lfiqar Khan Nusrat Jang, 19th.
A fine Indian miniature painting depicting Zu’lfiqar Khan Nusrat Jang, the eminent Mughal commander and statesman, shown standing in full regalia. He is portrayed wearing a richly decorated blue jama with intricate gilt floral detailing, complemented by a distinctive white turban wrapped over a red cap, a hallmark of his traditional iconography. Zu’lfiqar Khan stands in a composed, authoritative posture, one hand resting confidently on the hilt of his curved Mughal sword, symbolising his military prestige. His expression is calm yet commanding, with a neatly groomed beard that further identifies him as one of the most recognisable figures of the late Mughal aristocracy.
