An Indian Miniature Portrait of Maharana Raj Singh of Mewar, 19th Century.
A refined Indian miniature painting depicting Maharana Raj Singh of Mewar, seated in profile upon an elevated golden throne with turned legs. The ruler is shown wearing an elegant lavender robe adorned with pearls, complemented by a red turban with gold ornamentation. A radiant nimbus encircles his head, emphasising his royal authority. Raj Singh is portrayed in a composed, dignified posture, with one hand raised in a gesture of address. His sword, with its gently curved blade and decorated scabbard, rests across his lap, symbolising both sovereignty and martial prowess. A richly patterned green bolster and red throne-back enhance the regal setting, framed against a soft green background typical of late Mughal and Rajasthani revival painting.
