An Indian Mughal Equestrian Portrait of a Nobleman, 19th Century.
A finely rendered Indian Mughal miniature painting depicting a nobleman mounted on a spirited chestnut horse, accompanied by two attendants walking beside him. The nobleman, dressed in an elegant white jama with richly patterned borders, wears a distinctive turquoise turban with a radiant nimbus behind his head, highlighting his elevated status. The horse is adorned with an ornate bridle and decorative harness, its raised foreleg adding energy and movement to the composition. One attendant steadies the horse by the reins, while the other holds a ceremonial fly-whisk or staff, reinforcing the nobleman’s prestige.
