A Safavid Gold Ashrafi of Sultan Husayn, Struck at Isfahan in AH 1130 (AD 1717–1718).
A finely struck gold ashrafi issued under Sultan Husayn, the last major ruler of the Safavid Empire, dating to AH 1130 / AD 1717–18. Minted in Isfahan, the obverse bears the Islamic declaration of faith (shahada) in elegant Naskh script, surrounded by a beaded border. Catalogued as Album 2669. This coin weighs 3.41 grams and measures 21mm in diameter.
