A Safavid Silver Abbasi of Tahmasp II, Dated AH 1136 (AD 1723/4), Tabriz Mint.
A silver Abbasi coin issued under Shah Tahmasp II of the Safavid dynasty, dated AH 1136 (AD 1723/4) and minted in Tabriz. This coin features the Shahada (Islamic declaration of faith) in elegant Nastaliq script within a beaded border, encircled by additional Arabic inscriptions referencing Shi’a expressions. The reverse bears the full regnal title of Shah Tahmasp II and the mint name Tabriz along with the Hijri date. The calligraphy is bold and sharply engraved, typical of the coinage struck during the chaotic period of Afghan invasions and the rise of Nader Shah. Dated AH 1136 / AD 1723–1724. Weight: 5.42 grams.
