An Islamic Jade Chess King, 19th Century.
The piece of cylindrical form, carved from mottled dark green jade with natural veining in lighter and deeper tones throughout. The front is decorated with a raised circular boss surrounded by incised concentric rings and small drilled dot motifs arranged symmetrically, with further dotted ornament along the upper shoulders and sides. A shallow arched band separates the upper register from the lower body, creating a structured, architectural division typical of Islamic chess forms.
