Lot 321: A PAIR OF CHINESE EXPORT SILVER ENAMEL AND CARVED WHITE JADE DROP EARRINGS.
A matched pair of articulated three-section drop earrings in the Chinese export style, likely dating from the early to mid-20th century. Each earring is constructed from silver decorated with multi-coloured enamels. The top section consists of a floral rosette in shades of cobalt blue, turquoise, and orange. The middle section is an openwork plaque featuring two stylized figures or attendants flanking a central motif, highlighted with green, yellow, and blue enamels. Suspended from the base is a teardrop-shaped white jade pendant, featuring a scalloped pie-crust border and a central openwork carving of a deer, a traditional symbol for longevity and wealth. The earrings are fitted with long wire hook backings.
L: Approximately 6cm
Condition report:
The earrings are in good vintage condition. The enamel decoration is largely intact with vibrant colours and only minor surface wear. The silver-toned metal exhibits a natural aged patina and light tarnishing, particularly on the reverse. The carved white jade pendants are well-preserved with no visible chips, cracks, or signs of repair.
