An archer’s ring, also known as a thumb ring or zihgir, crafted from silver with champlevé enamel decoration. The ring features a characteristic asymmetrical teardrop shape with a protruding tongue designed to protect the thumb from a bowstring. The exterior surface is decorated with vibrant cobalt blue and emerald green enamel, depicting stylised floral blossoms and scrolling foliate patterns against the silver ground. The interior of the ring is finished with green enamel over an incised design featuring floral sprigs and a linear ground.

Condition report:

The ring is in good antique condition. There are several areas of enamel loss on the exterior, specifically within the blue borders and parts of the green foliage, exposing the silver metal beneath. The silver surface exhibits light scratches and tarnish consistent with age and previous use.
