A Chinese Peking Glass Snuff Bottle with Raised Cobalt-Blue Scrollwork.
The snuff bottle is of rounded form, worked in translucent pale glass overlaid with deep cobalt-blue decoration, carved in relief as scrolling cloud-like motifs encircling the body. The surface shows a soft, frosted translucency that contrasts with the glossy, saturated blue overlay. The short cylindrical neck rises to a flat lip and is fitted with a domed turquoise-coloured stopper, set within a gilt-metal collar and mounted with a metal spoon.
