A Chinese Blue and White Stem Bowl with Fish and Lotus Motifs, Ming Chenghua Mark.
The bowl is potted with a wide, gently flaring cavetto rising from a tall, tapering stem foot. The exterior is painted in underglaze cobalt blue with animated fish swimming amongst flowing aquatic weeds and lotus scrolls, rendered in fluid, confident brushwork. The underside is decorated with radiating lotus-petal panels encircling the stem, continuing the aquatic theme. The interior is centred with a circular medallion enclosing a stylised floral bloom, framed by double blue line borders beneath the rim. The stem terminates in a neatly finished foot bearing a six-character Chenghua mark in underglaze blue within a double circle.
