A Chinese Islamic Blue and White Porcelain Multi-Necked Square Vase with Arabic Inscriptions, Jiajing Mark. –
A Chinese blue and white glazed porcelain multi-necked square vase, dating to the Ming Dynasty, Jiajing mark and period. The vase features a square body transitioning to a cylindrical neck with two loop handles, surmounted by a cluster of five smaller spouts. It is extensively decorated with underglaze cobalt blue patterns, including scrolling tendrils, geometric borders, and four circular cartouches on the main body. Two of these cartouches prominently display Arabic script, which translates to "Qul Huwa" (Say: He is) and "Ahad" (the One), referencing the opening phrases of Surah Al-Ikhlas from the Quran. The base bears an underglaze blue six-character reign mark, reading "大明嘉靖年製" (Dà Míng Jiājìng Nián Zhì), indicating it was made during the Jiajing reign of the Great Ming Dynasty (1522-1566).
