A Late Safavid Copper Kashkul Beggar’s Bowl with Calligraphic and Arabesque Decoration, 17th Century.
A shallow, wide-bodied kashkul formed from dark copper. The exterior is encircled by a bold calligraphic band beneath the rim, the inscription rendered in flowing script and framed by fine scrolling borders. Below, the surface is filled with tightly packed vegetal arabesques, creating a continuous textured ground that contrasts with the smooth, undecorated interior. The rounded base is bordered by concentric engraved lines, while the rim is finished with a narrow repeating foliate pattern.
