An Ilkhanate Qur’anic Manuscript Leaf with Interlinear Persian Translation, Iran, 14th Century.
A single Qur’anic manuscript leaf from the Ilkhanate period, Iran, 14th century, written on both recto and verso.
The Arabic text is executed in a bold and well-spaced naskh script in black ink, with an interlinear Persian translation carefully inserted between the lines in a finer hand. Verse divisions are marked with small illuminated rosettes in gold and polychrome. The margins feature finely executed illuminated medallions and geometric devices in gold with blue detailing, characteristic of Ilkhanid manuscript decoration.
