An Indian Folk Painting Depicting a Diagrammatic Human Figure with Esoteric Symbols and Script, 19th Century or Later.
The composition centres on a stylised human figure rendered in a compact, curled pose, densely filled with inscriptions, symbols, and coloured motifs across the body. The face is prominently defined with expressive eyes, a moustache, and ornamental headwear, while the torso, limbs, and hands are subdivided into sections containing diagrams, geometric forms, ritual objects, and written annotations. The figure is surrounded by a wide decorative border composed of repeating floral elements in red, green, and yellow, with additional blocks of handwritten script placed diagonally in each corner. The overall layout is highly symmetrical and meticulously organised, combining figurative representation with diagrammatic and symbolic detail.
