A Chinese Gilt Bronze Zoomorphic Tripod Censer, 19th–20th Century.
A Chinese bronze censer modelled in the form of a mythical beast, standing on four sturdy legs with a broad, open back forming the vessel. The creature is cast with a horned head, bulging eyes, bared teeth, and a pronounced snout, with scrolling relief decoration across the chest and flanks. The body is further embellished with stylised scales, curling tendrils, and smaller zoomorphic details along the sides and rear.
