A Lot of Three Chinese Jade Pendants with Chilong, Bodhisattva, and Archaistic Motifs.
A refined selection of three intricately carved jade pendants, each showcasing distinct motifs and forms:
Left Pendant: A pale celadon jade pendant carved in openwork with an elegant chilong (mythical dragon) twisting through a lattice of organic forms. The creature’s sinuous body and scrolling details give a sense of movement and depth.
Centre Pendant: A circular pendant carved from creamy jade with areas of warm russet tone, featuring an openwork depiction of a seated Bodhisattva surrounded by stylised foliage. The figure sits within a circular frame, rendered with softly defined facial features and flowing robes.
Right Pendant: A rectangular pendant of off-white jade, decorated in relief with archaistic scrolls and geometric patterns inspired by ancient ritual bronzes. The surface displays closely packed curls and motifs arranged symmetrically across the plaque.
L: Approximately 5.5-6.3cm
Provenance: Private collection from a distinguished W London gentleman.
