A Chinese Jade Carving of a Coiled Chilong Surrounding a Circular Aperture.
A Chinese jade carving featuring a sinuous chilong wrapped tightly around a circular opening. The jade displays soft celadon tones with areas of warm russet coloration accentuating the creature’s body and limbs. The chilong is rendered with a pronounced snout, defined ridges along the spine, and curling limbs that grasp the perimeter of the ring. The carving is smoothly finished, with the aperture fully hollowed through the centre. The reverse follows the same coiling form, showing the creature’s body intertwined around the circular space.
