A finely executed Jain cosmological manuscript painting depicting the Lokapurusha, or Cosmic Man — a symbolic representation of the structure of the universe according to Jain cosmology. Rendered in delicate pigments on paper, the figure is composed of tiered geometric sections filled with miniature scenes, architectural forms, and symbolic emblems representing the various realms of existence. The head is adorned with stylised floral motifs and the body divided into meticulously patterned grids in red, yellow, and green, symbolising the upper, middle, and lower worlds.
