A Group of Five Sasanian Silver Dirhams Struck Under the Name of Peroz, Circa 460 AD.
A set of five silver dirhams featuring the crowned bust of Peroz within a finely beaded circular border. Each coin shows the distinctive tall wing-flanked crown, framed by symmetrical ribbons and detailed hair strands. Around the portrait runs a ring of crisp, compact inscriptions, accompanied by small crescent motifs placed at intervals on the outer margin. The reverses display the fire altar flanked by two attendants, their upright figures rendered with clear linear detailing. Surrounding them are concentric beaded circles with decorative crescents placed in the cardinal positions.
Each Dirham weighs approx. 3g
Provenance: Private collection from a distinguished Danish collector.
