A Spanish Floral Patterned Wood Panel, 11-12th Century.
Carved from a single length of wood, this Spanish architectural panel features a continuous row of stylised floral motifs arranged in rhythmic succession. The design centres on teardrop-shaped blossoms flanked by sharply curved stems and abstracted leafy forms, bordered by a linear band running horizontally across the upper section. Likely originating from Al-Andalus, this panel would have formed part of a decorative frieze or structural element in an Islamic building.
