A Mamluk Copper Calligraphic Candlestick, 14th–15th Century.
A finely cast Mamluk copper candlestick, its surface extensively inlaid and engraved with elegant Arabic inscriptions in thuluth script, interspersed with intricate geometric and arabesque patterns. The tall cylindrical neck and broad conical base are fully decorated with scrolling vegetal motifs, heart-shaped cartouches, and continuous bands of kufic-style calligraphy. The wide base provides stability, while the narrow socket at the top suggests its use for holding candles in courtly or religious settings.
H: Approximately 30cm
