An Islamic Seljuk-Style Fish-Shaped Brass Box with Silver Inlay.
A rare and intricately designed Islamic box, cast in the form of a stylised fish, richly inlaid with silver. Each side features figural medallions depicting enthroned figures, musicians, animals, and astrological or courtly scenes, all framed by bands of foliate and geometric motifs. The hinged lid opens from the top fin, revealing the interior compartment. The sides and base are further adorned with a dense cross-hatch pattern interspersed with rosettes.
