A Parthian Silver Drachm of Phraates III, Ekbatana Mint, Circa 63 BC.
A silver drachm (3.55g, 19mm) from the Parthian Empire under Phraates III (70/69–58/7 BC), minted in Ekbatana. The obverse presents a bold frontal portrait of the king with curled hair, a diadem, and distinctive side ringlets, wearing a torque with a central medallion and ornate robes. The reverse features the seated archer Arsakes I, holding a bow, surrounded by Greek inscriptions reading ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΜΕΓΑΛΟΥ ΑΡΣΑΚΟΥ ΘΕΟΠΑΤΟΡΟΣ ΕΥΕΡΓΕΤΟΥ ΕΠΙΦΑΝΟΥΣ ΦΙΛΕΛΛΗΝΟΣ.
