A Shang Dynasty Jade Tiger Amulet in Crawling Form, circa 1600–1046 BCE.
A finely shaped Shang dynasty tiger amulet, carved from mottled pale jade into the form of a flat, stylised crawling tiger. Dating to circa 1600–1046 BCE, the tiger is rendered in a minimalist profile with incised lines outlining the limbs and a gracefully curled tail. Twin perforations near the head suggest it was designed for suspension, possibly as a pendant or ritual attachment.
