A Pair of Spring and Autumn Period Beast-Faced Jade Pendants, circa 770–476 BCE.
Each carved from creamy to ochre-toned jade, these symmetrical pendants are finely rendered in the form of stylised taotie masks, typical of the Spring and Autumn period (770–476 BCE). The design features tiered, abstract scrollwork suggesting eyes, brows, and curled tusks, along with a central vertical panel resembling a scaled nose bridge or crest. The pendants are pierced at the top, indicating they may have once been suspended as ritual adornments.
