A Chinese Famille Rose ‘Boys at Play’ Porcelain Plate, Qianlong Mark.
A finely painted famille rose porcelain plate depicting five young boys engaged in festive play against a soft landscape of trees and distant hills. The figures are rendered in delicate enamels, each child wearing brightly coloured robes in shades of yellow, orange, blue, pink, and grey. One boy holds a lantern on a tall pole, another blows a trumpet, while others clap cymbals and dance across the foreground, forming a lively and joyful composition. The reverse is smoothly glazed.
The underside bears an apocryphal four-character Qianlong seal mark (乾隆年製), translated as “Made in the Qianlong period.”
