A Pair of Chinese Famille Rose ‘Rooster and Peony’ Porcelain Cups, Da Qing Yongzheng Nian Zhi Marks.
A pair of Chinese famille rose porcelain cups, each finely decorated with a vivid scene of a crowing rooster standing proudly upon a rocky outcrop, surrounded by blossoming peonies, delicate blue flowers, and soft green foliage. The bodies taper gently toward the foot, with thin gilt rims accentuating the elegant form.
The base of each cup bears a four-character Da Qing Yongzheng Nian Zhi mark in underglaze blue, presented within a double square cartouche.
