A Pair of Chinese Blue & White ‘Five-Clawed Dragon’ Porcelain Cups, Qianlong Mark.
A pair of finely potted Chinese porcelain cups, each decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with a boldly rendered five-clawed dragon in full pursuit of the flaming pearl. The dragons coil dynamically across the exterior walls, executed in crisp, detailed linework against a soft white ground. The interiors remain plain and smooth, while the rims gently flare outward above slightly raised, circular feet. The bases bear apocryphal six-character Qianlong marks written in underglaze blue within double circles.
