A Large Chinese Imari-Style Fish Bowl with Floral and Figural Panels.
A substantial Imari-style fish bowl decorated with an all-over design of densely painted red, blue, and gilt floral motifs. The exterior features alternating large quatrefoil panels each enclosing colourful scenes — including a central flower arrangement in a vase and figural groups of elegant court ladies — framed within red borders. Between these panels are diamond-shaped cartouches with additional figural decoration surrounded by scrolling foliage. The interior is painted with lively orange fish swimming amongst green aquatic plants, with concentric decorative bands encircling the rim in blue, red, and gilt tones. The base shows a red square seal mark.
