An Indian Tantric Painting of a Multi-Armed Blue Deity, 19th-20th Century.
An Indian Tantric painting depicting a powerful blue-skinned multi-armed deity seated in a dynamic, intertwined composition with two yellow-bodied attendants. The central figure holds animal forms and stylised serpents in raised hands, while additional figures in green and red kneel below, each grasping long ritual staffs. A large expressive face with wide eyes occupies the lower register, supporting the scene above like a tantric guardian motif.
Set against a muted cream ground within a distressed green border, the painting features bold flat colours, sharp outlines, and symbolic details including tridents, serpentine motifs, and ritualistic iconography.
Approximately 28 x 18cm
Provenance: Private collection from a distinguished W London lady
