An Ottoman Copper Openwork Lidded Box with Arabic Calligraphy, 19th Century or Later.
A rectangular copper lidded box featuring an intricate openwork design across all sides, set on four small feet. The exterior displays dense interlaced floral and geometric patterns, cut through the metal in an open lattice style. Arabic calligraphic bands frame the upper and lower sections of the box, continuing around the lid, forming a continuous decorative border. Two side handles are mounted on each end, shaped in a simple curved form. The lid is similarly decorated, with pierced motifs and calligraphic framing, and fastens at the front with a shaped clasp.
