A Qajar Brass Kashkul with Figural and Calligraphic Panels.
A rounded brass kashkul featuring an oval mouth and two pierced suspension rings at each end. The exterior is densely decorated with continuous figural roundels encircling the body, each containing seated musicians, animals, and stylised creatures set within scrolling foliage. Above the roundels runs a broad band of flowing calligraphy in an elegant thuluth script, framed by interlaced borders. The underside displays a large central medallion filled with tightly composed figures and vegetal motifs, surrounded by further circular panels.
