A Safavid Silk Textile Panel, 17th Century.
A finely woven Safavid textile fragment displaying a repeating pattern of elongated pear-shaped boteh motifs arranged in vertical registers. Each boteh is filled with dense scrolling foliate ornament rendered in soft tones of pale gold, light blue, and muted rose against an olive-beige ground. Smaller floral sprigs occupy the interstices, creating a continuous all-over decorative field.
Approximately 76 x 72cm
Provenance: Private collection from a distinguished W London collector.
