An Ottoman Fragment of the Kaaba Kiswa, 20th Century..
Crafted in rich green silk with woven threaded inscriptions, the composition features repeated diagonal registers of the Shahada (“There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah”) and other Quranic phrases in elegant thuluth script. Each chevron band is bordered with geometric floral motifs.
