A Chinese Famille Verte Porcelain Gu-Form Vase, Guangxu Mark.
The elegantly proportioned porcelain vase of gu form features a narrow waist and flared trumpet-shaped mouth and foot. Finely enameled in the famille verte palette, the surface is richly decorated with scholarly objects and auspicious motifs including vases of blooming flowers, books, scrolls, and precious items, all arranged against a pristine white ground. The midsection is encircled by a wide band of lattice pattern interspersed with chrysanthemum blossoms, bordered by geometric motifs in red and green enamels. The recessed base bears a six-character Guangxu mark, possibly indicating the period or origin of the piece.
