A Chinese Famille Verte ‘Dragon and Phoenix’ Vase, Guangxu Mark.
This Chinese porcelain vase features the distinctive palette of the Famille Verte tradition, richly decorated with panels enclosing a green five-clawed dragon reaching toward a flaming pearl and a phoenix in flight amidst auspicious clouds and flames, set above turbulent wave patterns. Framing the panels is an intricate diaper ground interwoven with stylized longevity motifs, while the neck is flanked by two applied lion mask handles with fixed orange rings. The underside bears a six-character Guangxu mark, possibly indicating the period or origin of the piece.
H: Approximately 32cm
Provenance: Private collection from a distinguished W London collector.
