A Chinese White Metal Teapot with Enamel Decoration and Coloured Cabochon Inset, 20th Century.
The teapot is of rounded form, cast in metal and decorated throughout with applied enamelled foliate motifs in shades of green and blue. The body is set with evenly spaced circular blue cabochon-style insets, framed by raised rope-twist borders. The domed cover is surmounted by a large red cabochon-style element, housed within a scalloped mount. The handle and spout are moulded integrally with the body, the handle highlighted with blue enamel detailing. The underside is finished with a geometric key-fret border surrounding a recessed square seal mark.
