A Chinese Famille Verte ‘Dragon’ Dish, Kangxi Mark. –
A shallow, circular Chinese porcelain dish, possibly identified as Famille Verte from the Kangxi Period. The dish is adorned with vibrant overglaze enamel decoration, primarily depicting a dynamically rendered five-clawed dragon in shades of green with red accents, a light green face, and blue mane, pursuing a flaming pearl-like object amidst subtle background outlines. The unglazed footrim on the reverse reveals a reddish-brown firing edge, while the exterior sides are decorated with stylized green and red cloud motifs. The base bears an underglaze blue four-character mark ‘大清康熙年製’ (Dà Qīng Kāngxī Nián Zhì), meaning ‘Made in the Great Qing, Kangxi Period.’
