A Qajar Brass Kashkul Beggar’s Bowl with Figural and Calligraphic Decoration.
Of oval form with a wide central aperture, the brass body is densely engraved across the exterior. The surface is decorated with lively figural scenes showing mounted and standing figures, animals, and scrolling foliage, arranged within cartouches and framed by continuous vegetal borders. A broad calligraphic band encircles the upper body beneath the rim, rendered in flowing script and integrated into the overall design. The vessel is fitted on each side with pierced loop handles, each attached to stylised mounts, allowing the bowl to be suspended.
