This lot consists of a Neolithic-style jade ritual object fashioned into a flattened, asymmetrical wedge shape, characteristic of an archaic yue axe. The piece is carved from a mottled, pale greenish-grey and cream hardstone, identified as jade, featuring extensive russet and dark brown mineral inclusions and veining throughout the stone. A single circular perforation is drilled towards the narrower end, which shows evidence of tapering.
