A Set of Indian Glass Pachisi Game Pieces, 19th Century - A set of fifteen Indian Pachisi game pieces. Each small, dome-shaped object exhibits a segmented or fluted exterior, finished in gilt. The flat undersides are uniformly treated with a dark, glossy, possibly lacquered coating. Stylistically, the pieces present an organic form, suggestive of melons or stylized flower buds.

More Information

Significant age and wear. Extensive loss to the gilt finish, revealing the darker substrate beneath. Tarnish and various surface abrasions are present, consistent with age and use.
