A Large Timurid Tinned Copper Kashkul Beggar's Bowl, 15th Century or Later.

A large copper beggar’s bowl kashkul finely engraved with intricate vegetal scrollwork across its body and neck. The upper band features an extensive Arabic inscription in thuluth script, likely containing religious or poetic content. The terminals at each end are rendered as fierce open-mouthed dragon heads with textured scales. The calligraphic band is clearly legible, and one segment includes Surah Al-A'raf (7:43): "Praise be to Allah, Who has guided us to this; never could we have found guidance, had it not been for the guidance of Allah."
