This piece is rendered in the distinctive style of the Lewis Chessmen. The material exhibits internal inclusions and natural variations. The stylized carving features a crenellated crown, almond-shaped eyes, and hands clasped in front, consistent with medieval European design influences. Each side of the piece features a distinct square cartouche with an intricately stylized, angular pattern.
