A Mughal Miniature Painting of a Seated Sufi Scholar, 19th Century - A South Asian or Persianate miniature painting on paper, depicting a venerable, bearded male figure with a white turban and dark robe, seated cross-legged. The figure holds a golden ewer and is shown on a patterned rug next to a stack of books, one with a red cover bearing visible script on its spine reading 'کتاب' (Kitāb - Book) and 'مُلّا' (Mullā - Scholar/Cleric). A green cushion is also present, all set against a plain teal-green background.

The item exhibits signs of age, including rough, irregular edges consistent with having been removed from a larger album or folio. There is overall discoloration and minor surface spotting. The colors retain a good level of saturation.
