An Ottoman Brass Mosque Lamp, 19th Century.

The lamp features a bulbous body with dense openwork Arabic inscriptions in thuluth script, flanked by circular arabesque medallions. Three applied loop handles encircle the body, each affixed with prominent ornamental mounts. The trumpet-shaped neck and foot are decorated with radiating panels of stylised vegetal scrollwork and kufesque bands. The lamp rests on a flaring foot with scalloped fluting and repeating geometric motifs.
