An Islamic Khorassan Style Bronze Qalamdan Pen Box with Silver Inlay.
A bronze qalamdan (pen box), meticulously inlaid with silver in the Khorassan style. The elongated, oval-shaped box features a hinged lid with a secure clasp and is richly decorated with intricate silver inlay. The lid presents three central medallions, each depicting a chainmail-clad warrior in a frontal pose, surrounded by arabesques, birds, and vine scrolls. Encircling the medallions are rows of stylized Kufic inscriptions and floral cartouches, masterfully rendered in silver against the warm bronze ground. The sides are adorned with vertical calligraphic panels alternating with foliate motifs, enclosed within a woven band pattern along the upper rim.
