A Fatimid Blue-Glazed Earthenware Pawn Chess Piece, Possibly 10th–12th Century.

Of small conical form with inward-sloping walls, this Fatimid chess piece is rendered in a brilliant cobalt-blue glaze, adorned with faint vegetal scrolls in lighter blue tones. Its shape and scale indicate its use as a pawn.
