Lot 269: AN INDIAN MINIATURE PAINTING OF INTERLOCKING WHITE HORSES, 19TH CENTURY.
The painting presents a dynamic composition of multiple white horses arranged in a circular, interlocking formation, their bodies overlapping and rotating around a central point. Each horse is rendered with simplified, elongated forms, highlighted by red accents on the hooves, tails, and bridles, which create rhythmic contrast against the pale bodies. The figures appear to tumble and turn in unison, giving the scene a sense of continuous motion and ritual energy.
